Up Front Brewing
We produced photorealistic product visuals and animations for a rebrand of Up Front Brewing by Freytag Anderson. We also created a bespoke Augmented Reality (AR) app that makes the striking monochrome illustrations on the cans move, injecting an experimental energy into the product and allowing the cans to literally come to life in your hands.
Up Front Brewing
Client: Freytag Anderson
Brief: We were commissioned to visualise a rebrand for Up Front Brewing by Glasgow-based design agency Freytag Anderson.
Background: Highly-regarded independent brewer Jake Griffin is currently establishing his core range of beers under the Up Front label. Freytag Anderson’s rebrand involved using the Up Front cans as a canvas for illustrator Stanley Donwood’s striking monochrome linocut prints and adding a simple clean font, resulting in a product with high visual impact. The labels were overlaid with a matte varnish to give a tactile finish to the cans.
Approach: We created photorealistic product visuals of the rebranded Up Front cans with an emphasis on the tactile quality of the print, which was difficult to achieve through traditional photography. As part of the brief we also created an atmospheric launch video that we art directed and produced. In addition, we created a bespoke Augmented Reality (AR) app for iOS and Android devices that makes the illustrations on the cans move, allowing the product to come to life in your hands. This reflects the energy and experimental nature of the project. Our visuals were used for the product launch, and our photorealistic computer generated images also feature on the Up Front Brewing website and online store.
